Dear St. Joseph School Families,
It is with great joy and a grateful heart that I introduce myself as the new Principal of St. Joseph Catholic School. Returning to St. Joseph is especially meaningful to me, as I am a proud alumnus of the school, a Tucson native, and a graduate of Salpointe Catholic High School. This community helped shape my faith, values, and love of learning, and I am honored to now serve the school that played such an important role in my life. As we begin this new school year together, I look forward to getting to know each of our students and families and partnering with you to help every child grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
I have been blessed to spend the past 28 years in education, serving as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, director, and superintendent. Throughout those years, I have learned that the most meaningful part of education is building relationships and helping students discover their God-given gifts. At St. Joseph School, I am committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels loved, supported, and inspired to grow in faith, character, and academic excellence. I look forward to partnering with our talented teachers and dedicated families as we work together to help our students thrive.
As we prepare to welcome students back to campus, I am filled with excitement and hope for the year ahead. St. Joseph School has a long tradition of nurturing young minds and hearts in a faith-filled community, and I am honored to be part of that mission. Together, we will continue to provide a strong academic foundation while helping our students deepen their relationship with Christ, develop meaningful friendships, and discover their unique gifts. I am confident that, through our partnership as parents, educators, and parish community members, this will be a year filled with growth, joy, and many blessings for our students.
Thank you for welcoming me into the St. Joseph family. As both an alumnus and your new principal, this opportunity is deeply personal to me, and I am honored to walk alongside you in your children's educational and faith journey. My door is always open, and I look forward to meeting you, hearing your stories, and celebrating the many accomplishments and milestones that lie ahead. Together, let us entrust this school year to God's loving care and work hand in hand to create a community where every child is known, valued, loved, and encouraged to become the person God created them to be. May God bless each of your families, and I look forward to seeing you on campus soon.
Blessings,
Matthew Chandler, Principal
