Coronation of the Virgin (Artist: Diego Velázquez, 1641-1644)
O Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, you were crowned with glory by your Divine Son, who chose you as Mother of His Church and our loving Queen.
We come before you with humble hearts, asking your intercession and motherly care. Guide us to your Son Jesus, teach us to love Him with a pure heart ,and to serve Him with faith and joy.
O gentle Queen and powerful Advocate, protect us from all dangers, comfort us in our trials, and lead us safely to the Kingdom of Heaven, where with you and all the saints we may praise God forever.
Amen.
The feast of the Queenship of Mary on August 22 is more than just another way of honoring Mary as the mother of Jesus; it is also a reminder that all of us are “kings and queens” in the Kingdom of God—even the youngest of your kids! READ MORE at teachingcatholickids.com.
